Chef/Owner Lynn Rinaldi focuses on modern and seasonal takes on sophisticated Italian cooking — exhibiting both culinary skill and style. Each house-made dish incorporates locally sourced ingredients, such as house-cured salumi for the meat board or house-made honey (produced from Paradiso’s own rooftop beehives) for the cheese cart. Signature dishes, such as potato gnocchi with wild boar ragu and maccheroni alla chittara with pancetta, spring peas, asparagus, and wild mushrooms, highlight Paradiso’s well-received and accomplished pasta making program.
Roof to Table:
Chef Lynn Rinaldi and her husband Chef Corey Baver built an expansive rooftop garden over Paradiso in 2011. The verdant rooftop bursts with zucchini blossoms, multiple varieties of tomatoes and peppers, herbs, heirloom carrots, raspberries and much more. The garden’s copious bounty makes shows up on plates and in cocktails several floors below at Paradiso’s bar and tables.
Thanks to Don Shump of Philadelphia Bee Co., the garden also is home to rooftop beehives—and thus, hundreds of thousands of honeybees– providing the restaurant with ultra-local artesian honey.
Chef Rinaldi and Executive Sous Chef Geno Betz curate the city’s best cheese cart sourcing creative, delicious artisan cheeses both domestically and from abroad. Paradiso’s cheese cart offers up to 15 gourmet cheeses at anyone time. Ask for a suggestion for pairings with Paradiso’s accomplished wine list.
Paradiso features an extensive array of house-cured including Soppressata, Capicola, Duck Prosciutto, Pancetta, Testina, and Guanciale. House-made patés are also regularly on the menu including a very popular Wild Boar Paté.
From quality liquor with homemade infused syrups to fresh herbs picked from the rooftop garden, each seasonally crafted cocktail contains fresh, locally grown and house-made ingredients.
Paradiso’s boasts an extensive wine list featuring the best wines from Italy and all over the world. Exceptional and diverse vintages are offered by the glass as well as by the bottle with every bottle carefully selected by aspiring sommelier and wine expert Lynn Rinaldi.
